In future we only need Two

Now there are too many computing devices in the market. There are smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktops…

As smaller mobile devices have more and more powerful processing powers, these devices will have a larger and larger overlap in terms of function, capabilities, and goal.

So, I see no reason why people want to keep so many things that do almost the same stuffs - more devices also means we need to bring more, or need to decide which one to bring. Other important issues are the device costs and carrier fees.

My guess is in the future we only need two (for each user) - a laptop (possibly a tablet-laptop hybrid) that mostly sits at home, and a phone/tablet hybrid device for on the go usage.

In the future, we need our device to be able to suit our needs wherever we are and whatever we are doing. How good it is that there is one device that can do all instead of having to use different devices for different uses?
Let me introduce you my latest idea - the Flow Phone (I’d like to call it Phlow). This is in fact not a phone, just that one of its function is a phone. The major difference of Phlow with currently existing phones is that it is almost entirely covered with touch screens. The main benefit of doing so is that the apps can now have five screens to use as their interfaces, which would in turn allows for many interesting properties and ways to control our apps.
Now, having all its body covered by an app makes the app break free of the confines of our normal phones. This essentially transforms the device into the app itself ! So we will no longer feel like holding a phone with a controller app installed under the screen, but will feel every bit like holding a real controller itself.
The next vital property of the device is that it can change (or allow you to choose from a list) its running apps according to your locations, to the time and even to the way you are holding it.
This property -  that the identity of the device changes as you need it, is why it is called a Flow Phone. It changes its property like how water changes its shape according to the container.
(Yes, the camera now lies behind the touch screen)
